Blooms (and Blogs) Away

June 14, 2019

Hi Bloom Babes!

I am Jamie Butcher, the owner and creative madwoman of Blushing Blooms. My goal for 2017 is to start blogging about flowers, family, and my floral hijinks so that you can get to know me a little better. I realize that a wedding is one of the most special days of a person’s life, so I want to share a little of my life with you too!

I am proud to be a professionally trained
designer that has worked in the floral industry for over ten years. I started my career as a floral apprentice, which is a fancy title that included some not so fancy work, like de-thorning dozens of roses and scrubbing flower buckets. I was thankful to get to shadow some talented designers that shared their knowledge with me, and I worked my way up to being the lead designer at a prominent florist in Virginia.

In 2012 I had my first daughter, Braelynn, and I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I have always wanted to be a mother, and like every new mom I was completely enchanted and consumed by my rambunctious ladybug. But after about a year, I started to get the creative itch. I missed my flowers, but I missed my brides even more.

I started Blushing Blooms in 2013 as what was supposed to be a side business, but my passion reignited, and with over 50 weddings later here I am. I am now a proud wife, a mother of two beautiful daughters (Braelynn, 3 and Emma, 8 months), and a creative madwoman entrepreneur with an addiction to flowers!

I created this space to share wedding planning tips, vendor profiles, and photos from real weddings and editorial shoots, but most of all I want to use this space to share my life with fellow floral addicts. Come and join me on my floral adventures and misadventures through life!

Blooms away,
