My clients often call me a natural, and I agree that I was raised on flowers. As a third-generation designer, some of my earliest memories are of helping my grandmother in her garden. I loved cutting roses and hydrangea from the jungle-like bushes and taking the flowers inside to carefully arrange them in the kitchen. My grandmother called it "playing with flowers", and thanks to her I still think of floral designing as play to this day.

I took one of my first jobs in a busy retail flower shop directly out of high school. I was hooked immediately and began learning the ins and outs of such a hectic business. My craft continued to bloom as my work was published in numerous magazines and featured on television shows such as Say Yes to the Dress!

A decade later I transitioned into where my passion lies- weddings!  I believe that every bride deserves a wedding she will remember long after the event is over. I strive for perfection and believe that each event is an extension of who I am and that it deserves all the love and attention I can possibly give.

I am Jamie Butcher, the owner and creative designer of Blushing Blooms. A Professional floral event studio located in Fredericksburg, Va.
I am proud to be a professionally trained designer that has worked in the floral industry for over thirteenth years. I started my career as a floral apprentice, which is a fancy title that included some not so fancy work, like de-thorning dozens of roses and scrubbing flower buckets. I was thankful to get to shadow some talented designers that shared their knowledge with me, and I worked my way up to being the lead designer at a prominent florist in Virginia.
In 2012 I had my first daughter, Braelynn, and I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I have always wanted to be a mother, and like every new mom I was completely enchanted and consumed by my rambunctious ladybug. But after about a year, I started to get the creative itch. I missed my flowers, but I missed my brides even more.
I started Blushing Blooms in 2013 as what was supposed to be a side business, but my passion reignited, and with over 50 weddings later here I am. I am now a proud wife, a mother of two beautiful daughters (Braelynn, 3 and Emma, 8 months), and a creative entrepreneur with an addiction to flowers!
